Top Tips And Plus Size Fashion Advice

When it comes to shopping for plus size clothing many women often fall into the same old buying patterns and avoid trying out new things. Looking at clothing in the right way will help you to not only look great but it will also make shopping much eaiser.

Here are some great tips on what plus size women should consider with their clothing that will make them look and feel great.

Dress for your body shape

Women come in all shapes and sizes and the way you can dress can either flatter or accentuate those problem areas we all have. What may look good on your friend may not work for you; that’s probably because you have completely opposite body shapes. That’s why it’s important that you figure out what your body shape is and identify the areas you prefer to keep hidden, so that you can dress to look your best.

Stay clear of baggy clothing

Many plus size women think wearing baggy clothes will flatter their figure by hiding their womanly lumps and bumps, but in fact it does the complete opposite and makes you look bigger than you actually are. Forget about trying to hide your figure, larger women should embrace their curves and accentuate every single one, and you’ll actually look slimmer and feel more confident.

Always wear the right size

Just as above, wearing the wrong size of clothing will not flatter your body shape. Squeezing into a size too small will accentuate those areas you’re conscious about while wearing a size too big will make you look larger than you actually are. Remember that each clothing size is cut and styled to fit that size so it won’t work for you if you don’t have those measurements. Always wear the right size of clothing and don’t be embarrassed, it’s just a number!

Don’t be afraid of bold prints

You may think that only slim people can pull off vibrant shades and bold prints but in fact they work really well for fuller figure women too. Floral and abstract prints are great for distracting away from that body part you’re conscious about too, so embrace the look and work with it rather than against it.

Lingerie is always important

Dressing for your body shape actually starts before the clothing – the lingerie is key to making your outfit work. Start with getting your bust size measured, an ill-fitting bra will make your bust and back bulge, which can be very unflattering and easily seen through your clothes. If you’re overly conscious about your bottom, thighs and stomach then some control pants will probably be your best bet for comfort and fit.

Accessories can make an outfit

Always add a few accessories to add a bit of pizzazz to your look; a waist belt will clinch in your waist and some chunky jewellery will add a fashionable touch. But try not to overdo it or make it look staged, too many accessories can take away from the outfit and sometimes it’s best to let that do the talking.

I am 25 years on and on the plus size, I am pretty much plain jane. What can I do to spice things up?

If any of you ladies know about fashion, please give me some tips. I just broke up with my BF a couple of months ago; and i want a new look for the fall, before school starts. People help me kick off my senior year in college.

i’m not really plus size (size 8) but i’m really curvy especially since i’m only 5’2. so i find i can’t wear everything the skinny girls wear. the best tip i think is to wear what really fits. you’d be surprised how much thinner u look when u wear something that really fits rather than a couple sizes too small that u have to squeeze into. other than that, i pretty much wear it if i think its cute. just always try it on first cause some things just don’t work. i think that a pair of good fitting trendy jeans (I prefer American Eagle: www.ae.com) with a nice top and pair of heels works wonders!
P.S. For those judgmental people…. I don’t see anywhere that she asked for diet tips! She just wants fashion advice!
**Beautiful doesn’t have to = skinny!!!**
